Invite as a Speaker

Ratna Vira: Author, Artist, Consultant, Speaker

She has the bold blend of a mind that exudes creativity and also has a deep understanding of the corporate world.

Ratna Vira’s career as a corporate leader included her holding senior CXO positions, and Communications and Human Resource profiles in organisations like MTS India, Quatrro, Apollo International, Bharti Enterprises, PWC and PepsiCo.

Having spent years in the corporate world, she took a break to pen down books. Her book – Daughter by Court Order – published in India in 2014 was in the Indian Top 10 Fiction List for over four months. The book has also been featured in The New York Times. The issues that the book talks about were widely debated and discussed, so much so that Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself sent across a note of recognition and appreciation to Ratna for bringing to light the issues that women deal with in feudal Indian families. The novel has been translated and published in Hindi.

So touched and motivated was Ratna by the message received by the Prime Minister that she launched the DBCO Forum for Women where anyone can contribute time and skills to support women facing inequality and discrimination.

Passionate about enlightening people, especially the youth, Ratna has conducted speaking sessions in universities like the University of Oxford, Said Business School, the University of Cambridge, Nanyang University Singapore, IIM Indore, Symbiosis, Kings’ School Canterbury and several Indian schools (including The Doon School, Welham Boy’s School, Hopetown School and Ecole Globale International School for Girls). She has also been a professor of Creative Writing at St Stephen’s College and at Jesus & Mary College.

Ratna has also spoken at several corporate forums, including several well-received sessions at FICCI-FLO, YPO, BizDivas (i-Inspire) and at corporations such as Deutsche Bank.

Besides this, Ratna is a talented artist and her paintings have decorated various offices and homes in US, London and India.
